Be warned, this is a work in progress fly.
The idea was to have something to fish behind a sedgehog. It's great fun fishing with a hog, but my problem was lots of splashes but not many hook ups
I thought that the splashes might be the fish trying to drown the fly and then coming back for it. So after a lot of trial and error I came up with this and it seems to work.

As I said a work in progress and a bit of a pain to tie, but lots of good confident takes from wild browns so I will stick at it.

What do you think?

I think it looks the goolies. Would be good to see it tied with different coloured dyed squirrel as well as just black, but does have that meaty sedge look a bout it..

I would like to try different colours but struggling to get good squirrel tail. Any tips?

Well spotted, the Crystal flash is a new addition this season. Not sure about it either.
