Default top 3 buzzer colours

Just getting back to tying (and fishing) after a 10 year break :-)

I'm somewhat baffled by the range of buzzer colours, since a lot of the basic SBS instructions I've found are for a single colour (usually black) but with comments that you can vary the colours as you like.

So my question is: if you had to just have just three colours of buzzer in your box (or on your cast), what would they be?

What he said.
Only exception being a bloodworm, which is the larval stage anyhow & the buzzer almost always refers to the pupa.
Where's Ron Clay when you need him!

Black, olive then a toss up between red and lime green on the subs bench.

Thanks guys, looks like a fair bit of consensus there so I now know I need to get on with some more olive and claret/red tying. I've only ever caught fish on black so struggle to have confidence in anything else.

I'm always a bit unsure about olive, as it seems to be anywhere between dark green and almost-yellow when I buy stuff in the shops labelled "olive". Is brownsville's photo of three nice buzzers a good representation of what people mean by olive? My current efforts are more like green ...

Since you showed my yours ... here's my beginner efforts, with a 5p coin. Comments/critique appreciated, don't spare my feelings! Most are on Kamasan B100 size 12.

The two greenish flies on the left are my current efforts at "olive"; the scruffy yellowy buzzer at the bottom is a 10-year old effort at the same - perhaps more correct colour-wise?

I'm not sure which of the two reds is better either?

Id say the bottom buzzer is a better representation of olive. As for the two red ones both look fine to me,but the one on the right is more claret imo
