Default Lacewing experiment.

1 of these dainty creatures plopped itself on my tying bench whilst getting the fly box restocked in preperation for next weekends trip. Being on call and not a lot else I could do, I decided I'd take my limited knowledge to it its limits.

Here's the result. Ok I know the living bug doesn't have a tail, but it looked wrong when tied up.

Hook size 12 barbless (local fishery rules C+R is all barbless)
Body: Olive seal fur with silver tinsel wrap.
Thread: 6/0 Olive
Wings: Krystal flash looped in a fig 8 round my bobbin holder and held in shape by a simple reef knot then tyied on as you would a blobhead.
Tail: White deer hair.

Please excuse the poor pic, the compact didn't want to do a sucess full picture and I don't have extention tubes or a macro lens for the Dslr.
