RUBIS, Switzerland. Also as C&F. Again around £34, got mine for £25. Why are decent scizzors so expensive now?

STreamworks, spring loaded scissor, just need to be honed slightly at the tips, won't take more than a minute or two to do. The best bit, there half the price of those other scissors

5" Iris scissors are what I use for most of my tying as I can "carry" them in-hand right through the tying process without continually putting them down & picking them up - saves a lot of time. For fine work I use shorter ones, & they work down to 28's with no problem.

If anyone needs non-serrated scissors sharpening/re-setting, I have a contact. He may be able to supply new ones as well. P.M. me f.f.i. He supplies many hospitals & his work is exception, I've cut individual fibres away from a strand of peacock herl.

Anvil "Ultimate" mini scissors are worth looking at too, as are Veniards "Razor" scissors. Both have
a serrated edge on one of the blades & the Veniards have tension adjustment & large loops for big
fingers - my personal favourites!!
Check out Lakeland Fly Tying's website, both are on there.

All the best,

Rudolf

Rudolf, check out the razor scissors on Deer Creek - Home page you can almost shave with them, they're a lot less expensive & come from an identical source.

Thanks for the "heads up" Arkle, at that price the razor scissors are a real
bargain mate, and like you say, super sharp. I've "nicked" myself once with mine
They really must be the best quality "top end" scissors at that money, I'm tempted
to buy a pair of the black or "oil slick" versions . . . . .

ps - you can get a 5" version by "Dr. Slick" but they don't have a serrated blade . . . .

All the best,

Rudolf

Have to agree with wobbly on the rubis scissors, I won these ones in the LTC charity auction and paid £24 for them, now I thought I must be nuts paying that sort of price for these but when I tried them they were sensational and it felt like all my previous cuts had been made with a pair of garden secateurs....but I'm terrified I drop them on my laminate flooring. They have got a very slight curve to them but making cuts is hyper easy.
