Question Help!!

I foolishly agreed to tie a fly for a friend using hair from her cat. She has now presented me with a bag of very long, ( and very fine), white and fawn hair and some whiskers.
She mostly fishes for salmon.

Apart from dubbing any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Billy

The whiskers could be good for tails on spinners. But what's wrong with using the other stuff for dubbing? Does she fly fish for trout as well as salmon?

You could tie her a gold ribbed cat's fur as opposed to gold ribbed hare's ear...

Maybe use the long hairs for a hair wing a la arctic fox? Could put some in a dubbing loop for a longish hackle and either have it at the throat or palmer it up the body.

Nowt wrong with dubbing Richard and I will probablly do a couple of palmered flys as well, it just seemed a bit obvious.

I had my first attempt tonight and tied it as a wing with peacock blues as a head hackle. The cat is called a blue something or other and there has to be blue in the pattern.

It is so fine I think I will have to blend it with something else to keep it together.

Will try and post a pic of the final effort, if there ever is one.

Billy
