Have never really used this pattern much as i am cdc fan has anyone had much success with this fly I find if you tie it on different hook styles you can get it to sit at different angles under the water surface.

Evening all. I like them. They always seem to land ok and the small browns in my local river are always up for a barny with them. They are quite versatile in the tying sense, easy play around with the dubbing and hackle choices. Started using Grip hooks 11801BLs, the shank is a bit longer than most but still a lightweight hook-see FTB site for a look at them.

I thoroughly recommend the book above Tying Flies the Paraloop Way. Coch-y-Bonddu books have it on offer at the mo 9.95. Also by the same author is Imatative Fly Tying, same price and interesting.

Recently tied some black gnats in the same style which fish very well.

Chris.

I tie a few for the rivers, my best colour is fiery broon and works well in a sedge hatch

Moutter's book is very good.

Here is a SBS for you

UKFlyDressing - Paraloop Emerger

There are a few more on UKFD if you or your friend get the bug so to speak!
