Default Sammy's stormchaser

Having seen a few olivey looking things about lately I thought something with some olive in it might get a few nips at the end of me old flymaster so i tied this on a size 12 which is a bit bigger than I normally tie for the local river so we'll see.

Thanks darwin it is rather simple yes a bit like me I s'pose, the body is the downy bit from a goose stiff dyed olive dubbed onto the thread and then overlaid with an olive colored hackle stem....simples oh sammy is a niece of mine but she's always chasing rainbows for a pot of gold and will probably find it.

Yes that CDL was sent to me recently by a forum member as I just happened to mention I'd never used it b4, a CDL virgin I suppose and must admit it's great to use, very light and will look amazing under the water I'm sure, so I bunged plenty on this fly to give it some umph

Well spotted as i know it can be mistaken for other similar looking hackles, wood duck or grizzle for instance, well to the untrained eye anyway, but i think it gives the fly a certain lightness and balance so would be perfect for tying spider type flies.
