Default first shot

had my first shot at tying flies today, used my mates kit and some left over stuff he had. he showed me what to do but these were my attempts. cant wait to get some practice in when i get my stuff through. whip finish is done by hand so is rather ropey, what do use think. pic quality aint the best sorry

Better than my first attempts, at least someone showed you the ropes.
I used rope as tying silk.

They're not bad.

Haha, not as bad as me i hough marabou stems were wings and that to secure thread you wind wire round and put it on top Great first tries, the heed on the DB'S are a bit big but tha can be sorted

Superb for first tie.Looks like you are using a thick thread which is bulking up the head and body,but you should be proud of them-will definately catch fish
