Default Tippet nymph and bad buzzer

Tied this nymph useing GP tippets for the thorax cover on a kamasan B100 size 12 and also a buzzer which I still need lots of practice to get the proportions better as I've only ever tied a few of these, also on a kamasan B100 size 12.

Clever use of the tippet for the bicolor wingcase. What's the body?

And not a bead in sight

Just read your latest blog entry NCA (great blog by the way), lovely piece of writing and I could envisage the scene quite well as I've seen the Eden many times like that but without the success that you had thouigh. Do you have the recipe for that hawthorn fly by any chance? thats a really beautiful piece of tying.

Yeah - didn't like the beads, but like that one!

Thanks for the comments re blog. The hawthorn fly proved rather successful recently, although that particular incarnation had sat untried in my box for a couple of years (no hawthorns to try it out on I'm afraid). It is based on a previous pattern which had always caught well for me. I posted an SBS of this a while ago (see link below). A couple of comments prompted me to revise the winging style. Both patterns seem to do the business, the key being their low riding, semi-drowned attitude, I'm certain. Hope you find it useful.....

Sorry, hope I haven't hijacked your thread there.....
