Default Another CDC emerger.

I've yet to have a fish take a home tied fly off the top. If they're moving about to buzzers at Blagdon on Sunday I'll be trying to scare them witless with stuff like this.

I am suprised you should say that Brownsville as you have posted plenty of good looking flies on here over the last few months, though the hook on this one looks a bit heavy to be carried for very long by the CDC bubble , I may of course be completely wrong. PJ

Thanks for the encouragement Paddy, fact is I've not been fishing enough, at least when fish are rising.

The bubble is three feathers wide and has survived a good sloshing, and the odd poke with a finger, in a pint glass so far and sits nicely ****-downwards.

The hook is a B100 so quite light-wired, flimsy some would say, but I've tried to build up some taper in the body.

I am no expert on CDC, but on small hooks this will do just fine. Ya did a real nice job on the body

It's feathers from a ducks preen gland area. The preen gland produces oil which the duck spreads around whilst grooming. Hence it is very buoyant-water off a ducks back! In the pic above it's the curly fluffy bit at the eye end. Idea being that end floats and the body sits under the water level.
So it kinda looks like a fly emerging, trout like that.

Chris.
