Certainly seen one on here but like Rob says it wasn't like that and I think it may have been a floss tail.

Aye, now, that is what I think of as a hog. I tie them as dry flies and fish them as dry flies. However, I have been led to believe that these Viking type Johnnies in the lands to the far north seem to think they are wet flies.

So, I thought I ought to arm myself with a few and put them to the test.

Do that one without thread and I'll be impressed

Joking aside I had a very good night on Sunday fishing something very similar only with a fluo yellow floss tail as opposed to a tag. I always fish these on the point with a couple of ordinary kate's on the two droppers, usually from a floater and stripped back nice and fast. Provided theres a decent wave they never let me down.

Of course they are wet flies or should we be say emerging patterns not that I know of these Johnnies.
