Default tying leaders

Hi
having recently entered the world of fly fishing I would like to tie my own leaders could anyone give me any information on dimensions and knots etc for a leader with a point fly and 2 droppers. Many thanks in anticipation and my apologies if this appears to be a request for very basic information.

all the best Chris

Is this a joke.
Quote:
General Trout Leader: 10’ 4X for 5/6 weight line.

Material Leader Diameter Section Length Strength
Clear .022" 36” 30lb
Clear .020" 16” 25lb
Clear .017" 12” 20lb
Clear .015" 6” 15lb
Clear .012" 6” 10lb
Rio .010" 1X 6” 13lb
Rio .008" 3X 12” 8.2lb
Rio .007" 4X 24” 6.4lb
What a palaver.

If you are using a weighted point fly then 12' of 8lb mono or fluro with droppers tied in 3 turn water or fig of 8 knot at 4' then 4'.
Unweighted flies ,
12' cast/leader 4'-10lb.4'-8lb.4'-6lb. finnished. These will get you started.then it's up to you to fine tune to suit your situation .But that 1st example is a total waste of time.

Welcome Chris,

How is your casting? It might be advisable to forget about droppers until you can cast 1 fly without getting loads of tangles etc, then progress to a single dropper, and only go up to 2 droppers when you're able to cast well with that...

By the way, it's not a basic question. There are as many opinions on this as there are fly fishers.
