Might be hitting some stillwaters up in the hills for some wild brownies this weekend so tied these 4 efforts to try out.....wonder if they'll work or not?

Thanks gazza, the hooks I got from Phil at fly tying boutique, FTB 103 barbless (size 14 here), quite like them to tie on, very sleek.

Some nice looking spiders there. I reckon they should work a treat. Let us know how you got on with them.

I'll often fish small spider patterns on the clearwater small stillwater fisheries in the south: I find they work when the fish are spooky from seeing every lure in the box whizz past their noses. Takes coming on the drop or with a slow retrieve to stay in touch with a drifting line.

Thanks shortea and thanks for the tips budgie, I don't do that much stillwater fishing but I enjoy it when I do as it makes a change from the rivers now and again. Might head up to cowgreen and see what thats fishing like these days as I havn't been for a while.

Superb little creations Mark!

The hooks are Flytying Boutique's "FTB 103" barbless.

Kind regards
