Default First adams parachute tie

Hey guys,

this is the first fly that I post on this forum. I'm having problems to dominate this Wapsi super fine Dry Fly dubbing :S, but this is how the Adams came out, will try to get some better pictures if possible with my camera.

It's a #14

Welcome to the forum ngoles...that looks like a well tied fly to me mate. It would certainly get the trout looking up on some of our rivers and streams.

Mick.

Welcome to the forum. Fly looks ok to me.

What problem are you having with the dubbing? Putting to much on is normally what makes it 'play up' for me. Try putting one turn on then give it a twizzel with your fingers to tighten it a bit then wrap it with the dubbing in your fingers. You can stretch it as you go with a gentle pull. That makes it go on thin. When 1/2 way up the shank go back to the bobbin if you want the second half to go on a bit thicker. More gentle tugging and tweaking to get it as you want it.

Also you don't have to put all the dub on at once. Go so far then add some more as needed. Rem when applying to the thread to only twizzel one way.

Your hackle looks good-that's the hard part sorted! Try the above and you'll soon have the dub under controll. Hth.

Chris.
