Default BugBond v Windscreen Resin

A lot of people have already converted over to Bugbond ,,, i was one of the ,,ummmm is it worth the cash,, is it the same as windscreen resin ,,, well after todays experiments i can confirm Bugbond is by far the best.

I was sent a sample of 2 types of windcreen resin from a very well known windscreen company, yes it hardens, after its been cured the finish is a bit oily, residue comes off, onto yer fingers. Was using an industrial UV LAMP,

So after making the decision not to go fishing, i nipped upto Stirling Angling,, to get a demo and see is Bugbond any different from what i have... and yup there is a massive difference,, cures faster and no residue after.

Back home, and into the tying room for a wee bit of,, head to head

Needless to say, ill be using Bugbond from now on - wish i had bought both types

I can now tie buzzers in minutes instead of the jesus how long do i have to wait for this to dry

Bug Bond, Clear Cure Goo - both are so much quicker to use and to create a fishable fly than using varnish!

Great looking flies!

Kind regards

Taff,

It's all down to the specific spectrum of UV that a torch has - with only 5 LEDS, you could be waiting all day for the Goo or Bugbond to cure.

Best bet is to invest in the correct torch - for the price of 4 packs of cigarettes or 6 pints of beer, they really are not overly expensive ... and the torch lasts a lot long than beer and fags!

You could try the ebay torch - but you might be wasting the £5.00 plus p &p.

Kind regards

Phil.

Get rechargable batteries for it as the light has to be at its best to cure the glue properly.
Ordinary batteries run down quickly, they still produce light but not to the correct degree.
Recharge your batteries before each session tying and you will be sorted.
