Default Repainting tungsten beads?

It seems I have collected a lot of tungsten beads in various colors. Black has become a favorite color for a number of reasons. Since tungsten beads do not come cheap I would like to repaint some of the other beads black.

Have any of you tried to do this with success?

Your thoughts pleas.
Thanx in advance
flymph

The beads are generally anodized or baked enamel finish, so most normal paint(s) may be okay but it's doubtful if they would last very long. You're probably better of using a permanent marker, as that works with a solvent base so is more likely to penetrate into the surface of the enamel & you can easily do a "touch-up job" at the waterside without to much hassle.

Nail varnish (black) is good.....rub the bead between two sheets of sand or emery paper in the palms of your hand to scratch it up for a key coat of primer then use the gothic nail polish, finishing with clear polish. You'll get a glossy black that way. In truth, when you buy painted beads the suppliers don't even bother with scuffing the beads to provide a key.

Yep, it works pretty well. I have used model paint in the past. Nothing really last if your fishing free stone rivers.

By putting paint over a harder enamel, it's never going to last very long in gravelbed fisheries, but by using a permanent marker the ink/pigment actually soaks into & impregnates the surface of the enamel. That's why I suggested it.

It seems strange that the thread had 72 "views" before anyone i.e. me put up any ideas of both what & how to do about it.
