Default Ideal for shooting trout with

I've just been messing about with a few different things this afternoon, the river's too low so I can't fish and I'm sick of sunbathing. This is tied on a kamasan buzzer hook size 10, so quite a big lad. Could still do with a bit of tweaking here and there.

Thread - pearsalls orange
Body - made up of feather fluff from golden olive cock hackles and olive grizzley marabou.
Rib - elastic band cut along its length so it tapers to one end, stretched as its wound.
Thorax cover - 4 brown goose biots (can be varnished for a shinier effect).
Thorax - olive and natural hare mixed.
Throat hackle - partridge

Thanks for looking, all comments welcome

cheers

Thanks chaps, I'm not sold on the rubber rib, think it might look better with a different ribbing material and shorter in the body so I'll have to experiment, seemingly rubber bands are better for worm type bodies. (and twanging at ya mates).

would be great for just a slow figure of 8 and just wait for the line to be ripped out of your hands.

looks nice that dose , maybe colouring the band with a pantone pen ? or darken along 1 side with a pantone pen perhaps.

Yes I did think about doing that as the band has too much of a bland look about it, but I don't have any of those marker pens, I think a nice tan colour or darker olive would look good and blend in the rest of the materials for a more pleasing effect.

I think that works well, though you might find that the rubber band perishes with age and use.

Thanks thats a good point, it would be interesting to know how long those daddy longlegs with rubberband bodies last although rubber pulled tight under tension like i have done will probably be more prone to wear and tear.
