Default Mayday mayday mayday

No not mayflies but I thought I'd tie 3 flies that i could use for the month of may with some quite fetching names, all tied on kamasan B175 size 14's.

All look nice and should work. Just make sure you've got some hawthorns.

Thanks wobbly, don't mention hawthorns, I was swamped in thousands of em this afternoon, I have a few black gnats that will do the job just as good though, they always seem to work when the hawthorns are about.

Great ties wingman, I like! Click the image to open in full size.

Would you mind sharing the recipe for the Fluffbomb explosion? I really like the fluffy body, I know a river or two where it would be an absolute killer pattern

Cheers!

J.

[QUOTE=jindra;966502]Great ties wingman, I like! Click the image to open in full size.

Jindra the fluffy body is just the downy part of the softer larger partridge feathers that come from the rear of the english partridge down just to the side of the tail and its just twisted tightly onto the thread with a little wax applied to the thread beforehand (the darker part of the down I tried to get it so it's in the thorax area). The rest is pearsalls grey silk and a woodcock wing under-covert wing feather. Hope that helps.
