Finally got myself a nearly new "Mink Coater" (only the 30Lb/ft but should do the job) together with a new 110aH battery to power it.
Going to play with it tomorrow as it's opening day on the local "Wild Tarn" - will save a lot of rowing!
As the water is known for a population of Bullhead, thought I'd have a go at one of Ollie Edwards patterns - Waggy Tail Sculpin. Never tried this before as the fly takes a bit of "construction" (as OE puts it).
Anyway, here's the result. Luckliy I'd inherited some rabbit (from the Rt Hon Ron Broughton no less) exactly the shade used by OE in his vid. My wife's craft box produced a wool top of the exact matching shade for the head - said wool top now liberated to my fly tying box!
I'm short of coloured markers so used black for the barring.
Also no Roman Moser fibre so used some Turral savage hair in tan for the gills.
