Avoid the melanistic ones, generally they'll all dye okay & many of the ones you'll see have been partly bleached with ladies hair products such as Clairol's Born Baby Blonde & the like. Temperature control is fairly critical, so don't try & over-cook them, just leave them in-soak for as long as may be needed, which can be several days (after the dye has cooled).
