Default Pre treating dries

Was thinking of giving some dries I am tying up a dunk in some floatant straight off the vice.
Not done this before, but thought it might be worth a go.
Any suggestions to a suitable product or should I just keep applying a little gink on the waterside?

ATB

I find that when tying Hedgehogs or any other fly you want to fish high ,wide and handsome, is to keep applying a bit of Gink to your fingers while tying the fly, that way the seals fur, deer hair etc receives a good covering and you will find you never need to apply again, unless it's catching rakes of trout,
Cheers Ken

Thought about that or the old fashioned Permafloat. Wasn't sure if the perma' was still available.
Cheers Wullie.

What about Dilly Wax, would that be a good idea?

I was thinking more of a watery stuff rather than the wax or even Gink

i treat my flies with watershed, i put a little inside a old Fuji film canister (remember those) and just shake my fully hackled or even some of my cdc tied patterns around till they have a nice coating of the stuff... Let it dry for 24 hours and they will float like a cork.. Don't do this with klinks or other parachute flies because they will sit on there side every now and then.. I do soak my aero dry wing in the stuff and let it dry, also when tying palomino midges after i burn the chenille i will soak it in the watershed.. Don't try that the other way around because the stuff is quite flamable..
