Default Daphnia pattern

Hi all,

Has anyone got an effective pattern to represent daphnia? I know that orange lures can be successful, but that's not really my thing - I'm hoping to find something a bit more representative if possible.

Try a peachy based wet fly or a very loosely dubbed lump of orange/peach seals fur.
Matching the hatch aint really a possibility with the blighters the size they are individually.

The booby is a great fly when the daphnia are in bloom. The trick is to find the correct depth of the bloom, as they are generally, but not always, in a thermocline, and to be able to retrieve the fly along the thermocline at athe correct pace. I find that the countdown method of fishing with varios DI sinkers, is invaluable when the dapnia are in bloom.

How about one of these?

I've never fished one, or tied one - but it always makes me smile when I see it
