Default To knot or not to knot!

I have once again undertaken my most boring yet what i see as an essential task in tying. I have begun my bi-annual hopper leg tie. Now, i reject loads as i like my knots as close to the tip as poss, to allow the same legs to sit on a 12 or 14. I think the factory fitted kind are an abomination, and i spend some time doing mine. A mate of mine has labeled me autistic in this department and reckons you dont need to be as fussy, if knots are needed at all.
What is the general consensus here in relation to this
Scotty

Default Re: To knot or not to knot!

I bought some, and they were rubbish, then I tied a whole side of a feather only to find the knots were too far from the tips to use them. Now I tie legs as I tie the fly. Takes longer per fly but it breaks the tedium (Sp?) of tying them and they come out the right size every time.

I'm with you, tie your own, the bought ones are rubbish.
