Default Colourful Kate's

Colourful Kate’s
Following on from my colourful crunchers I thought I would pimp my favourite fly, the Kate McLaren.

Using a hot orange hen badger this one is not a huge leap from the original.

Next I tried a blue grizzle hen and is turned out a bit Irish bumbleyish.

Next I thought about adding a little fire to the tail so the red dyed GP crest. W.O.I
cree for the body and orange hen badger for the head hackle.

Then I tried mixing some red and black seals fur for the body and a pink badger hen for the head hackle.

Moving on I tried chartreuse badger for the body and olive grizzle for the head.

Madder by the minute, red GP crest tail, W.O.I cree for the body and chartreuse badger for the head.

Hope you enjoy them.

No.3 is a stunner, I'm copying that for certain. I like the last one a lot as well. You can keep your pink one though

Nice set Graham Top one for me, probably because it's the least removed from the original. Difficult to improve on perfection. Nice butt... if you don't mind me saying so.

The last one gets my vote. I would use this as a substitute for a Gosling fished on rippled water during the mayfly season on southern stillwaters.
