Default Anyone remember Kevin Hyatt?

"Kevin Hyatt was born in 1961 and grew up in Welwyn Garden City. He was educated at Monks Walk Secondary School, where his first love was sport.
Like many youngsters he lost interest at school and so he turned to fly-tying as an escape from boredom. A self taught fly-dresser, Kevin knows the problems beginners face when starting out and how to solve these problems.
Although only twenty three he is an experienced tyer and his ability was proven in 1981, when the late John Hardman of Videorama studios in Hoddesdon, gave him the opportunity of producing a video on the subject.
Kevin not only hopes, but believes that this book will be of help to fly-tyers everywhere, whatever their standard and he hopes that after reading the text and following each step, they do not come across the problems which he did as a beginner.
"
-The Colour Guide to Fly Tying by Kevin Hyatt (1984)

Here are some examples of the end results from the step-by-steps from the book (sorry about photo quality!):

Kevin also dressed all the patterns from Robson's Guide by Kenneth Robson (1985) but then, so far as I can tell, seems to have vanished off the map.
Does anyone know what became of him? He'd only be about 51 years old now.

I vaguely remember him, only through some of the magazines of the day. Have no idea what happened to him though. Didn't he get some recognition from the fact that he tied flies for Frankie Vaughn when he was starting out ?

Well after a brief google session, it appears that Kevin is still based in WGC & plays cricket for one of their teams.

I'm certain this is the same bloke (give or take 25 years!) as in the first photo in this thread

I wonder if he still enjoys his fishing and dresses flies...
