Default Sheeps wool

I know this may seem a very basic question but I find lots of sheeps wool when out a walk with my dogs ,now I would like to use it for tying in some way do I need to wash it or do anything to it before use ,and any suggestions on how to best use it welcome.

Great to use as a strike indicator due to the great floatability properties(natural lanolin)

if you plan on dying it you will need to degrease it first

Is there any worries about mites or any bugs??? did I read on here to microwave for 10 secs to kill off bugs???

How do you degrease just wash in warm soapy water then rinse???

Bung it in the freezer for 24 hours Pete then wash with Head and shoulders.

Pete you could always knit a jumper

I havent used the stuff myself but Im sure I came across it as being a good dry fly dubbing on the other hand I may have dreamt it
