Marryat CDC Tool

Hi All,
Just wondering if you guys have any opinions/experiences of using the Marryat CDC Tool. I tie the wings on my CDC flies by bunching the tips of CDC feathers but i wanted to cut down on the waste so I bought the tool but I found it fiddly & time consuming to use and I cant use the medium feathers with it (which the most of my CDC feathers are). So it looks to me like its just another gimmicky, overpriced tool that will never get used
