No its not useless, if you had some imagination!
I'll try to expand for you .
It has a black body, ribbed with peacock herl ( one strand )
Its on a curved emerger hook
On top of the hook , sticking out of the water, is CDC ( looks like the deer hair in Bob Wyatt's DHE ). I spin this in a split loop, combing upwards to help the hook settle properly in the water.
Of course its nor "new" as such ( new to me ) , but it beat CDC and Elks, F Flies and Klinks all ends up.
I'll be tying a few more as it was pretty much a pre season experiment for me.

Agree Loopy, sorry no pic. The Black and peacock is a great fly. This doesnt have black hackle, and its an emerging dry rather than a wet but thats where its origins are.
