Default My Fly Photography Setup

Click the image to open in full size.

Been experimenting on taking a few pics, which I have been finding rather tricky! The pics are coming out pretty well now.

To hold the flies in place I have taped a magnet to the back of a white canvas. This is only possible with doubles and singles. Any ideas for getting good shots of trebles?

Whats your setup?

Have you considered mounting them in the small electrical probes & then using blu-tac to hold these in place away from the card. I gather they are also called "flyclips". You can always edit them out after shooting.

Most people find a mid blue background popular as it's in the central region of the meters sensitivity, rather than white. Which can alter the effect of colours by modifying the exposure. That will apply especially if you use, as you're doing a lot of artificial light.

F.F.I. go to the photography thread above here on the main page.

Forgive my stupidity, but why is the magnet technique not possible with trebles? Works fine for me.
