Been trying to come up with some small dry flies and quite liked the look of this one. Doesn't look so good under macro though lol.

Size 18 Olive dun

hook: size 18 varivas 2120WB
Thread: Olive
Tail: Olive cock fibres
Body: BWO turkey biot (orvis)
Hackle: olive grizzle
Wing: White calf tail

Yep, nice little fly. The one to have in your box all year long. What is the wing material?

I really like that pattern, and a good size too. Fiddly job though, collar hackling a #18. Have you ever tried paraloop hackling? It lets you get a lot more hackle onto the fly while retaining the lightness of dressing that nice wee hooks demand.

Great olive pattern though, and the wing will really help with sight fishing.

Cheers for the comments guys, looking forward to seeing how it swims. Hoping the wing should help it land the correct way up on the water.

I don't have a gallows tool and read that paraloops are very tricky to do by hand. May possibly get hold of one and give it a go but there is something nice about collar hackled flies lol.
