Default Any tips for zonker underside???

Hi been having a go at tying a big inverted zonker using a mylar body and so far quite like the basic design apart from the underside of the zonker strip tail.
Any tips on what I could add to the underside to pretty it up a bit?
I realise I could glue another strip of zonker to it but any other suggestions for a fuss pot.

Many thanks in advance

Any chance of a picture or 2, so we can see what options may be available for your chosen style of this type of dressing ?

Hi Arkle and Northsea, sorry for barging in on the thread but I have been using the mini Zonker in the SBS section with some success on the river but would now like to try some night fishing for the browns and am thinking of doing a longer Zonker.Would this lure (mini zonker in sbs) be an original or variant and is it also used with a little weight wrapped on the shank ?

For streamer fishing on the rivers I tie the zonker strip in with the strip overhanging the back of the hook as per here http://www.graysofkilsyth.com/Olive-Zonker.jpg

For weight I find a set of dumbell tungsten eyes at the front end do a perfect job of sinking the fly. Will post a pic of some of the patterns I use later.

Hi won't manage a pic or two at the moment but this link is pretty much the very same apart from the fancy eyes.

Its the tail underside of the zonker strip I'd like to pimp up a bit.
Just trying to do something to temp a fish to come up from below.
Some form of attractor perhaps.

Thanks

Not to sure if it would suit you but would tying another strip of smaller zonker run through the hook fur downwards and glue the skins together (like a double bunny) be worth a try ?
I'll get my coat

I generally dub my bodies and then wind a heavy wire rib through to completely secure the zonker strip. Really dont enjoy tying them so want them to last lol

What about just colouring the underside of the strip with a waterproof marker? You could use the same or a constrasting colour?
