Default New camera...New fly?

Just purchased a Samsung NV5 - 7.2 mp - sexy design - more functions, bells and whistles than you can shake stick at - and of course... a ***** manual! ...seemed a bargain to me at £120
Anyway... first job was find the macro setting... 3 macro settings no less!! (Macro, auto macro and super macro!) ...should be able to photgraph a fly then?
Here's the first effort of a 'new' snatcher I tied up a couple of weeks ago. Whaddya reckon?
Not got the white balance sussed yet but seems sharp enough...watch out Hans!

Good start, m'friend. Yes, white balance needs a bit more attention, and then work on depth of field. Lighting next. I suggest you do in controlled steps, and document the results well for ease of repetition.

Looking forward to the next set of images.

Cheers,
Hans W

Default Nice one Scratch!

Makes my efforts look positively stone age! But just wait until my new toy arrives!

Depth of field appears well managed thereas every fibre in the dubbing is distinct.

Look forwards to your step by step for that one as well!

Good picture and a very nice looking snatcher. Has it been successful? It's got all the ingredients of a killer pattern.

Thanks for the kind words guys... very pleased with the camera and pleased with the pic,but it was litterally a 2 minute job.. just a case of point and squirt with the basic macro setting (of which I have another 2 to go at!) and a couple of desk lamps and let the camera do it's stuff!... With a bit more practice and more understanding of the camera I may even get somewhere near the likes of Mr Weilenmann's benchmark.
Yes Alex, the snatcher pattern has removed a few fish on it's limited outings since it's 'birth', a couple of decent rainbows and blues from Stocks, and a nice wild brownie from a Skye hill loch last week.
I tied a whole family a couple of weeks ago... when I get some time later I'll try and do a nice 'family' shot and see if I can't improve a little.
