Great tying and a really good looking fly. But is this one going to fish hook up ?

Neil Patterson's original Funneldun, is a hackled fly. I think you may mean compara-dun which is from the U.S.

Sorry but is not any variety of Funneldun!

If you look again at the dressing for a Funneldun, it requires a hackle which is wound and then FUNNELLED forward, then a V clipped out on the “top” of the pattern (opposite the hook bend) which ensures that it will swim hook point up.

The over sized hackle gives it its floatability.

If you want to create a Funneldun with deer hair, you need a full radius of deer hair.

As Arkle states, you have created a Comparadun (albeit with dodgy tails… )

Kind regards

Best of regards to you too.
It is fished upside down like the hackle dressed funnel dun.

Sorry byhaugh1 but should'nt the hackle/deerhair be on the other side if it is to ride hook point uppermost , well constructed though the abdomen being nice and slim .
