tail cock pheasant fibre tips
body cock pheasant sometimes weighted
rib copper wire
hackle brown partridge.

The original was not weighted.I heard this from the inventor 1 week ago.

Thanks for the help lads , that dressing rings a bell as I tied one many moons ago when I first started tying , it turned out **** but now I have a bit o experience tying it will probably turn out a bit less **** . cheers lads .

Mm!

I thought it was tied using orange thread, pheasant tail for tail and body, silver wire rib and a grey partridge feather?

the dressing i gave is of john roberts, there maybe different dressings in other books etc, B

Me too, page 117.

He describes the copper wire rib abd brown patridge hackle as a variant.

The picture on page 115 looks more like the variant.

Yes Graham,I mentioned weight to john Last week.and he said he never tied any that had extra weight.So there you go.
