Default Hard as nails

I know a lot of people coat there buzzers with SH as NAILS and it says on it contains nylon, i have looked at a lot of clear nail varnishes and quite a lot say contains nylon when you read the back, some are as little as 70p any one else noticed this? is it worth the additional expense?

As my wife doesn't use it, she always gives me the look when I say I'm off to the perfumery. I use the stuff a lot, especially on Saturday nights....no,no! That's my tying night.

My missus's manicurist says, SH is fine for fishing flies but for God's sake don't ever put it on your nails! Apparently the nylon content of SH is a lot higher than many other nail varnishes.

Like all other varnishes, Hard as Nails can be saved using ordinary fly tying thinners.
Does the job just fine, pour a little of the thinners at a time, give it a stir with the brush, then when you think it is going to be ok, give it a good shake, and allow to settle.
I am still using a bottle I bought two seasons ago, no problem, it does show that I have not tyed a lot of flies in the last couple of seasons though.

Nor done your nails often, either. (sorry Sam, couldn't resist)
Of course you're right, you can even dilute it with nail polish remover (the stuff I use to ... oh no, not again).

Johan ... you really do have to think these post through before you hit send. 'Some,' not me mind you, are beginning to ...... 'wonder?'

Kidding aside, some of the more interesting ties I've seen were done with glass beads separated with a thin bit of chenille, then 'over coated' with SH nail polish with 'sparkles' (is that the right word?) in it. The things would glow in the dark.
