Thanks for the post, it looks like you have a fly with lots of killing qualites there.

I don't know what type of camera you're using but when you are tying flies as small as that, it often pays to do a "one off" on a larger hook for photographic purposes as the cameras sensor has a larger image to focus on.

Also if the fly is held in a stationary object like a vice, then it, with a tripod mounted camera and good natural light will pay endless dividends. There are numerous other techniques that you can consider as well such as using the camera's self timer when its tripod mounted. In fact almost everything I've mentioned so far is about avoiding any movement of either the camera or the subject which is where it seems that you are likely to be getting the problem.
