Default Gold nugget muddler

Still not got these muddlers out my system yet. On this one I kept the underside of the fly light on deerhair to show more of the partridge collar hackle. (a mix of 2 different colours of deerhair, a light olive and darker olive).

Tied on a kamasan B175 size 12

Pictures are getting much better Mark! Really good. Can see you're taking it seriously now so I'm going to offer a couple more bits of advice which may sound small, but the devil is in the detail.

Try and get a fly clip, and try shooting the fly the other way round, with the eye on the right of the screen. Don't ask me why because I have no idea, but it just seems to be easier on the eye when orientated the other way.

Do you tie left handed Mark?

Nice fly and really is a much better picture.

Thanks stuart, no i;m not left handed I just tend to pick which side of the fly would look the most appealing photogenically (god thats a big word) but I can always flip the image in photoshop what a cheat, Now where can I get a fly clip?

Emerger, The original Muddler MInnow was invented by Dan Gapen to imitate a species of minnow.... called the "slimy sculpin" The use of deer & other hair-headed flies has widened drastically since its inception in the 1950's.

It was first brought to U.K. anglers attention by Tom Saville of Nottingham, who also introduced many other tying & fishing ideas from the U.S.

Very nice fly, the colour combination works superbly.

it was mate.. muddler/sedge patterns was fished before that hence why i said its to rep sedges more than anything.. did you state that because you think overwise or was that just some extra knowledge on the muddler family?
