Default Book suggestions please

I am looking to move on from the more traditional trout flies that I tie (a klink for me is a bit of a novelty) and am looking for a book with some methods, patterns and that also sparks the imagination.
I know that there is a lot of good stuff on the internet but I am old enough to prefer a book to get me started.

Thanks
Bill

Default book recommendation

'Imitative Fly Tying' by Ian Moutter, 2002, Swanhill Press, ISBN 1 904057 11 X is a new one which has some novel ideas. He uses furled hackles in an attempt to better imitate the proper 'footprint' and silhouette of flies, and claims to represent more accurately the way a natural looks on the water. I found some of his ideas very interesting and certainly different. A bit fiddly perhaps, but certainly worth a go.

Thanks Cravencast. Had a look inside the book on Amazon and it looks interesting. Pretty much what I had in mind.
Thanks again
Bill

Peter Gathercole writes good books and is from over yonder.
Also Dave Hughes, Skip Morris and AK Best would be worth a look.

I know Peter Gathercole, but the others are completely new to me. I did a quick check on Amazon and they all look interesting.

So, books, fly tying materials, gear and fishing permits. Something's got to give.

Been said before, but I'll endorse again, there are plenty of great step by steps on here for you to take advantage of and a plethora of good tyers who would help you with any problems. And if you felt like making any donations then please PM me.

After reading your blog, I have a damn good idea where any donations would go.
