Default Advise on leader material.

Hi,
At the moment i am using Airflo G3 Fluorocarbon at eight and seven pounds,
last night i was at a private lake, caught three to four pounds all returned,
but i was snapped four times on the take the line was braking in the main length of the leader not at the knots, i used two different spools with the same results has anyone had the same experience with the G3 line.
Today i have ordered some Stroft at eight pounds,
I would appreciate any advice on good leader material,
Thanks,
John.

JohnC1,

it looks as though you might have abrasion damage to your leader material, this could cause breaks in the length rather than the knots - have a good look at the remaining material on the spools and your rod rings.

PS - post in the tackle or general section next time

I haven't had many problems with G3 but my boat partner has gone back to using Maxima Ultra green for pulling wets .

I have been getting mine from the gac ( sorry but its handy at times ) and it always has been buy one get one free The reason for me mentioning my rod in the above post was that as its such a powerfull rod combined with the quality of the rainbows from my local water and the non stretch fluro it sounds like there could be a problem with yours as mine up till now is ok

I use a 10ft Sage fli wf8, the line has been snapping on the take if it had been while playing a fish i could blame myself, the fish in our private lake of 14 acres are stocked in march and all are released, they are the best quality fish i have see in my area, full fined torpedoes.
