Good. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I've had exactly the same problems.

Buy one. Throw it and the free one in the bin.

I have used Airflo G3 for at least 2 years now, from 7x 3lb upto 1x 10lb, and am 110% happy with it. I find it more supple than some flouros, and tough as boots, and sinks readily in 6lb upwards. Regurlarly use 6 or 7lb for carp fly fishing which takes a lot of abuse getting pulled through snags and the like.
I use either the trilene knot or palomar knot to maintain good knot strength, I have found half blood and uni knots less acceptable. However, wind knots will result in a breakage, which isn't much different from many other tippet materials.

Thre Sightfree G3 is rubbish, don't waste you time or money.

Though I must say that the Airflo Sightfree XL is very good, no problem there and really tuff.

There seem to be a lot of detractors regarding G3 but one posting has probably hit the nail on the head - wind knots. This is the major cause of break offs and I shouold have mentioned it in my first reply.
A wind knot will reduce your breaking strain by up to 60% depending on the leader material used. I have had Hardy's, Fulling Mill, Vision and others break on wind knots so therein may be your answer.
Failing that, if you still think it is the material, get in touch with Airflo and send a sample to them for analysis.

Another problem can be where you keep your nylon ect ect after your days fishing most of my spools of nylon are still in my waistcoat but a friend of mine after a very wet days fishing hung up his waistcoat on a peg above the radiator to dry it off. A few days later we were back on the water again and as i had left my waistcoat in the house I was using his florocarbon every strike with the suspender buzzers i was getting snapped off but put it down at first to my new loomis glx and myself not used to its power but the same thing was going on with him only later on that day we realised what was going on when we checked over the spools of nylon they had become very brittle due to the heat I think ?

I was talking to a friend last night about the G3 fluorocarbon, he said he had the same problem and phoned fishtec about it he was told after making a leader to prestretch it before using it, this solved the problem and now he uses nothing else,
I will give this a try before i totally give up on the stuff.

John.
