This is an American model with a two prong plug does anyone know where I can get an adapter for the UK ??? Tried several places?

Maplins, £3.49. Check the voltage, you may need a transformer as well.

if this is an american lamp then you WILL need a transformer to step down from 240v to 110v. You can get these from maplin, about 39.99. for that money you may a well buy a uk daylight lamp though
