Default Fly tying in Shropshire....

Does anyone know of a Fly tying "club" (if thats the right word)...in Shropshire....? (Near to Telford / Bridgnorth / Shrewsbury..if possible....)

I want to start tying my own, and rather than wait to see demo's etc at the BFF, wanted to have a proper intro into it...

...have looked at the FTG, but nearest to me is Warley or Worcester....

Would consider meeting up with anybody in the area willing to teach me the basics as well....

cheers

Steve

Yes, Karl worked at Dearnford in Whitchurch before it ceased to be a public fishery. However, he lives in the Potteries.
He is the most friendly and helpful guy you could ever want to meet and tells some wonderful tales about seatrouting and fishing in montana... and a mighty fine fly tyer.
Neil.
PS QOHussar I have posted your request on the FDG forum and I'll repost any answers here.

Thumbs down FDG reply from the Secretary

Hi Neil

The nearest branch of the FDG is indeed the Worcester group. The S. Birmingham have been out of existence for a number of years.

Going the other direction are Potteries (Stoke) and Dee and Clwyd (Wrexham).

Neil...

Thanks mate.....Worcester would have been okay as I could have stopped off on the way home......but as I say it appears from the branch Website they don't hold evenings during the summer.....granted they're fishing instead...but not any good to me ATM.....

However thanks for asking....am following acouple of other avenues, waiting on a PM......

thanks again...

Steve

Whereabouts are you? I work in Bridgnorth and would be happy to show you the basics and get you started.
