Halfway through tying the fly, I realised that i really dont know how to tie them. I only know how the look like...

There are a few anglers that tie this pattern with dumbell eyes on the underside of the hook, I gather this helps in shallow "flats" type water, as it helps keep the point facing upwards.

The fly is tied with dumbbells... But it sure doesn't look like that
