Default whip finish tool

Hi Guys.
Ive been tying for last couple of years "im still not very good "but enjoy myself. (used to finish by hand)
When I first started I purchased some tying gear from someone on a car boot.
He was packing up fishing so got a good deal .
Anyway saw a video on using a whip finish tool last night and remembered there was a couple in the gear I had bought.
The devise was different to the ones in videos but looks like a vinyard one.
the one with the sprung type arm.
I tried for over an hour but could not get the thing to work.
thread would fall off or some such .
I then thought could it be a LEFT HANDER 5 mins later having turned the vice around and holding whip finisher in left hand hay presto .
Ive managed to use them both , just got to re learn to tye left handed now.
by the way I am left handed.
Description of tyer
when you look at the rigid hook on the end its in the shape of a no 2 and is at right angle to the main body.

It means you just have to move your hand in a small circle and the head turn itself wereas with a solid one yu have to rotate the tool in your hand
