Default Best method for mixing dubbing?

I think I have reached the stage in my tying apprenticeship where I need to find an effective way to mix dub. What I normally do is pick a bit of this, a bit of that and maybe some of another, roll into a ball and pull apart. The process is repeated for as long as I can be bothered usually.

I seem to rem reading ages ago about using hand operated coffee grinders and something else about an airline and a plazi bag .

My current method works ok but I would like to produce a small bag full so that next time I tie, the fly comes out the same.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Chris.

I've been thinking about a coffee grinder but as yet don't know which one to go for, plenty being sold through amazon. Reviews all seem to be mixed.

The use of a coffee grinder is very common on this side of the Pond. Only word of caution is you want to use VERY SHORT pulses with the motor.

I use the herb chopper attachment on my food processor but with water in it, and using short pulses. Works brill!
As for manual mixing: i once saw somewhere on the net, a method using a screw top jar of water. The various fibres are chucked in the water, and the whole thing given a good shake. From what i remember, the result was a very even dubbing blend.

Food for thought. I'd never have thought of water, but now you say...logical.
How do you dry it? Just put it somewhere warm I guess.
