Yes, it's true, BUT the cost of feed has added about $5. a cape/saddle to top line U.S. genetics.
The rumor's you hear have been around for ages, on here & everywhere else that has involvement with genetic capes.
I have it on VERY good authority, that Whiting's are NOT increasing production any more than they normally would, as it's a fashion thing & very fickle. I know the price that people are charging for individual feathers, nearly $2. EACH, so when the next crop of birds is available they will not be sold to anyone outside the fly dressing industry as whole saddles. They will only be sold in packs of a dozen feathers. This is to stem demand, I have my doubts if it will work, but....
Whitng's will not have any Euro-saddles till next April, & their normal/Hebert's this "Fall". I imagine that others are in the same boat.
