Hi,

Anyone else tie these???? They are tied with the sparkle dun type shuck instead of a tail.

I don't but I'm going to. Just bought a book from a fellow forumite called Tying Flies The Paraloop Way. I can't put it down!

If mine look half as good as yours I will be delighted. The book suggests I will need a gallows attatchment, what do you think?

Very nice flies BTW.

Chris.

Nice ties, Byhaugh. I especially like the way you turn the hackles (on the stem I presume?). Do they really fall point up?

Thanks for posting,
Johan

Chris, just tie normal para flies but put hackle post on underside of hook shank. If you are strugling to do this, just tie hackle post as normal, but once in position push the post onto underside of hook followinig same direction as your thread, this will tighten up the thread securing the post.

You could always try a loop of nylon like Roy Christie's reverse parachute fly

UKFlyDressing - Roy's Reverse Para

Default Tying a Paradun

Sorry, meant Paraloop

Jay Smit, the builder of the jvice and associated accessories, has a short video on tying the paraloop. I think it is under "tying tips?" on his web site.
The web site is
