Default Royd Hooks

Just a quick question from a novice tyer. In order to save a few pennies I bought 100 #10 Royd grub hooks from that there auction site. When they arrived every point was 'snubbed' (the very point was turned up and of little use for fishing). I returned the hooks and got a refund even though Royds said there was nothing wrong with them. My questions is has anyone else had problems with Royd hooks? In general how are they regarded, is it worth trying cheaper hooks or am I better off staying with Kamasan and Partridge for example.

I have never tried the hooks but have seen threads that weren't very complimentary.
I mainly use kamassan hooks and think it is a false economy to use cheap hooks as at the end of the day it is a vital link to the fish.

Ok, cheers Lads, I'll stick with Kamasans in future.

Ok. I've now done a search on here for 'Royd' (something I wish I'd done before buying the bl00dy things) and it does seem that the general consensus is 'sh1te'. Ah well lesson learned.
