Default Wings - Clarification

After a little help here folks.
I've been watching a fair few videos on tying traditional wets. However I am a little confused when it comes to the wings. I see some tying two wing slips from opposite sides of the feather and then others refer to rolling the wings.

What does the latter mean ?
Is it just folding the wing?
Is there a preferred method or is it dependant on the pattern?

the two slips for dry or wets is from mallard/teal wings and the likes aswell as using two slips from the bronze mallard.. the wing rolling method is really easy you fold the strip of (bronze mallard usually) 4 times like doing a roll up hense the name (rolled wing) if theres no SBS on the forum watch Davie mcphail
thunder dunkeld variant on youtube

As you have guessed Eddie, rolled is in effect folded.
Normally used for feathers that dont come from a pair of wings. Fibres like teal breast, bronze mallard etc.
Feather slips/paired wings come from wings such as, starling, mallard and jay.
You can pair some tail fibres as well, like hen pheasant and grouse.
Slips are great to look at but a rolled wing is better for a fishing fly.
