Default Rhyacophila Larvae

These free-living caddis are a really important food source for grayling & trout. Imitating them can be essential for early season success.

I carry several bugs in varying shades to imitate them:

Great Dave, must stop dreaming of Halycon summer days of dappled sunlight and dry flies, get real and get some of those sorted for season kick off.

Fully agree, Dave. As are hydropsyche. Some in your fly box could be taken (by the fish) for that species. Nice bugs

Just the opposite to Toby! I've stopped thinking of those Grayling Bugs; and silver ladies from the depths! I'm now thinking of warmer days; as my mind's eye can picture yon Salmo-Trutta rising to take my offering of "Dry Fly" or "Emer-ger" Although those caddis bugs in varying shades, look absolutely perfect! That's a wonderfully arranged fly box Dave, full of beautifully tied Grayling bugs, that anyone would envy! PERFECT!

Regards

Mostyn

You old romantic Mostyn... but it's a little way off yet!

Now pull yourself together, get the 10 footer and the bugs out and prepare for some proper dredging Just as much fun

No can do Dave! Blo-ody river running wild and full of colour; and only a week to the beginning of the trout season!

Gareth Lewis, ties some very nice bugs; very similar to your box of perfectly tied caddis bugs; and occasionally I get to pinch a couple of them! just like you, Gareth seeks perfection when tying flies, bugs or Nymphs. I always appreciate a well tied fly!
